Newborns have a natural affinity for water, which is why we encourage babies to start their water journey from 3 months old. The goal is always to foster a positive and enjoyable experience for both baby and yourself so we can ease you into the water at a gentle pace that suits you. Our baby & preschool lesson offering depends on the pool temperature & is only available at some of our venues.

Our teachers are committed to providing unwavering support of each child in the water which is why our classes remain small with a 4:1 ratio in our non-swimmer (no previous experience) classes. As the children develop in confidence and age, we expand these to 6:1 to keep the classes micro but encourage social development within a group setting.

MJSA takes pride in not endorsing armbands within lessons. Arm bands can create a false sense of security for children and instead, our teachers utilise every lesson to grow your child's confidence and skill sets to ensure they are confident in all water. We use pool platforms – structures to help control the depth of the water & our teachers in the water at our entry level classes

Each of our class levels has a bespoke scheme of work, developed by the team at MJSA to ensure every lesson is structured & aimed towards improving confidence & competencies. MJSA is the only swim school in Scotland to be developed by an Olympian swimmer. All lessons have been tailored to ensure maximum output and unmatched confidence; mixed with insider knowledge that will leave your child excited to return for their next lesson.
